Delayed

Hope everyone had a nice July 4th!

I have actually had this ready to be posted since last week, but I had been waiting on the pictures, which I haven't taken until now!

Getting my wisdom teeth out on Thursday last week gave me an excuse to be out of commission the entire weekend. However, I was somewhat productive during the week and, with the help of my dad, made a lightbox! It’s a good thing that my dad used to be an engineer and is very handy with these things. It turned out to be quite a success and quite large too! It takes up a lot of space. We do have to go back to home depot to get some lights though. I’ll admit I don’t know what I’m doing yet when I’m taking pictures, but I’m learning!

If you're interested in making a lightbox of your home, you can try these links! I used this one for my lightbox.

I've also been very productive - not particularly work-wise, but knitting-wise!

First up is a very simple drop-stitch scarf pattern that I sewed together to make into a circle scarf. It's so light and airy! I can't wait to wear it.

Next up is a slouchy hat and a bulky scarf in a brick slip-stitch pattern. The original pattern stopped the brick pattern for the decreases to make the top of the hat. I wanted to continue it, so after asking around and doing some math on my own, I finally finished it and I'm very happy with it. I had started on the hat first, but in the pattern the brick slip-stitch pattern was stopped for the decreases that make the crown of the hat. After asking around and doing some math on my own, I finally finished my hat. Details here.

Red is a beast to take pictures of! The color is so inaccurate.)

While I was figuring out how to finish my hat, I was itching to work on something. I was kindly RAKed (Random Acts of Kindness) this yarn. As it is so thick and bulky, I wanted to have a slightly open pattern, but one simple enough that it wouldn’t get lost in the blatantly red and black yarn. I actually was planning on giving this scarf away since such a bulky scarf is not conducive to California weather, but I actually really like it. It’s ridiculously long and so cozy.

And my last, most recent finished project (well, not yet) is this pair of slippers. You make them really big. Then you're supposed to through it into the washer to felt it and make it smaller and hope it turns out all right. They're ginormous right now! I'll post after I've attempted felting it. Hopefully it's successful!
